How to Build an MVP in 6 Weeks: A Founder's Guide (Egypt & the Gulf)
Most first products are over-built and launched late. Here's the step-by-step approach we use to design and ship a real MVP in weeks — scope, design, build, launch — and how much it typically costs.
The most common way a startup dies isn't a bad idea. It's spending 9 months and most of the budget building version one — then discovering users wanted something slightly different.
An MVP (Minimum Viable Product) exists to prevent exactly that: get a real, usable product in front of real users as fast as possible, learn, then invest with confidence. Here's how we do it in about six weeks.
Week 0 — Define the one thing
Every great MVP proves one core loop. Not ten features — one job your user will pay for. We run a short discovery workshop to answer:
- Who is the first user, specifically?
- What's the single outcome they need?
- What's the *smallest* product that delivers it end to end?
Everything else goes on a "later" list. This step alone saves most founders half their budget.
Weeks 1–2 — Design the flow, not the screens
We map the user journey, then design the key screens with a lightweight design system from day one — so the product looks credible to investors and users, and stays consistent as it grows. Bilingual (Arabic/English) from the start if you serve the Gulf; retrofitting RTL later is painful.
We prototype and test with a handful of target users before writing production code.
Weeks 3–5 — Build with modern tools (and AI)
Because our designers and engineers are one team, there's no handoff gap. We build with a modern stack (e.g. Next.js), reuse our design-system components, and use AI in our workflow to accelerate design-to-code and testing — which is a big part of how "weeks, not months" is realistic.
Week 6 — Launch, measure, iterate
We ship to real users with analytics and feedback loops in place, then help you read the data and prioritise what's next. Many clients continue with us into the full product build once the MVP proves the model.
How much does an MVP cost?
It depends on scope, but a focused MVP designed and built by a senior team in Egypt typically costs a fraction of a Riyadh or Dubai agency — often in the low-to-mid thousands of dollars rather than tens of thousands — with the same (or better) quality. After a short call we send a fixed proposal with clear phases and pricing.
Mistakes that sink first products
- Building for everyone. Pick one user and win them.
- Skipping design. "We'll make it pretty later" costs users and investors now.
- Two vendors. Separate design and dev teams double the timeline and blur accountability.
- No analytics. If you can't measure it, you can't learn from it.
- Perfectionism. Launch the loop, not the vision.
An MVP is not a smaller version of your dream. It's the fastest honest test of it.
